There have been talks of a big screen "Halo" movie for many years, but negotiations with Microsoft kept falling apart. Now comes word that the company could revive the idea with a live-action "Halo" web series that will be launched on Machinima website in the weeks leading up to the November 6th release of "Halo 4" video game.

The new series is called "Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn" and will tell an original story about the game's Master Chief and how he inspired a young UNSC cadet who will eventually become a leader aboard the UNSC Infinity spacecraft.

There will be a total of five weekly installments, around fifteen minutes each, that will tie in with the plot of the "Halo 4" game. The project is "the largest investment" Microsoft has made in live-action to date, but we won't know who'll be directing and starring until Comic-Con in July where the company plans to provide more information.
