Master Chief is back!

While most people plan on spending November 6th huddled around the TV waiting to see who gets elected as our next president, I will be stuck to my screen for a different reason. Halo 4 will be hitting store shelves and for the first time, the franchise will be without big daddy Bungie. It is time for 343 Industries to shine and I believe they will. Being a veteran Halo fan, I was a bit worried when I first heard that Bungie signed a 10yr deal with Activision and that another studio will be taking over. As time had passed, I learned more about 343 Industries and that it was comprised of a talented group of individuals that had a shared love for the Halo franchise as much as I do. That satiated me for a bit and after reading what they have in store for us in the most recent Game Informer, I became more giddy than ever.

To also help spread the news, Halo 4 director Frank O’Conner and executive producer Kiki Wolfkill will be appearing on the Conan O’Brien show at 11pm to talk more about the game. Microsoft’s Major Nelson also confirmed that there would be more news being released by Team Coco. The November release will coincide with other big name fall releases as well including Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite, Assassin’s Creed 3 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter, in which those games will be releasing in September and October. Microsoft is stating that this will be the beginning of a “new trilogy” that takes place approximately 4yrs after what transpired at the end of Halo 3. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us, as the official website states that Master Chief will “confront his own destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe.”
